Yaczik Wins Again!
DARLINGTON – Monday night’s Premier Racing League Coastal Safety Auditors Grand National Series again saw Brian Yaczik in victory lane for the Darlington 100. Yaczik inherited the lead from Savage Spinners Pole winner, Jeff Ward, and held off the charging Jake Wright to claim his 3rd victory of the year.
The always talkative Yaczik said post race that, “We came off of pit road and I knew [fuel] was right on the number… the way Jake [Wright] was catching me was I just flat ran my tires off!”. Yaczik now moves into 3rd place in the Chase Standings with only two races to go.
Jake Wright again comes home with another solid performance with his 2nd place finish on Monday. Wright started 17th in the 25 car field, but was able to manage his tires to snag yet another Top 5 (for the 15th time!). Paul Pepper’s practice during the week paid off with a 3rd place finish. Troy Haydt comes home in 4th. James Krahula was able to bounce back from a earlier wreck with Jeff Rhyne to round out the Top 5. Jeff Ward comes home in 14th, one lap down after having to pit lane for fuel after leading with the most laps in the event.
The bubble for post season remains a nail biter as Joe Hassert was able to extend his gap over Jeff Rhyne for the final transfer spot. Hassert was able to come home with a 6th place finish while his closest rival, Jeff Rhyne, saw trouble multiple times during the event. Rhyne came home in the 17th position.
Next week the series will head to “America’s Hometown Track!” to take on the South Boston Speedway on August 29th for the SoBo 125. If you would like to find out more information about the Premier Racing League, visit www.PremierRacingLeague.com or www.facebook.com/PremierRacingLeague.
