Yaczik Tops Ward and Rhyne
HAMPTON – AdvoCare We Build Champions week continued at the Atlanta Motor Speedway with the AdvoCare We Build Champions 150, and 3 drivers within 5 points of a title. Jeff Ward would head into Atlanta with a 2 point lead over Brian Yaczik and a 5 point lead over Tommy Rhyne. Strategy came into play early in the event after the yellow flag flew for the only time on lap 3. Yaczik pitted and was able to make it on one less stop than both Ward and Rhyne and that would prove to be the difference in the end. Yaczik came home with an impressive 3rd place finish over Ward in 7th and Rhyne in 8th. Yaczik would become your 2016 Coastal Safety Auditors Grand National Series Champion by only 2 points over Ward.
Jake Wright would win the race on the same strategy as his No Name Racing and championship winning teammate, Yaczik, by over a second from 2nd place finisher, JD Laird. Wright would end up 4th in the championship, with too much of a point deficit going into Atlanta to make up any ground with his win, and finish 21 points behind Yaczik. Rhyne would finish 7 points behind in the title after winning the Savage Spinners Pole and leading the most laps.
Yaczik finished the season with 3 wins and 2 Savage Spinners Poles. Yaczik will take home $50 and a plaque to commemorate his championship.
