Fortune Favors Krahula At The Rock
James Krahula battled Ryan Howard for the win at Rockingham Speedway after early race favorites Jake Wright and Dan Murray got trapped on pit road after a late race yellow. Dan Murray rode his momentum from his win at Daytona to take the Savage Spinners Pole Award for the American 200 with a lap of 22.988.
Dan would lead laps early battling with Scott Eckrich who was the early favorite coming into the night. Scott would wind up leading 28 laps early before internet issues would trap him laps down, relegating him to a 15th place finish. Rett McBride would lead the next part of the race before making contact with another driver entering Turn 3 that would end his day. That would leave Jake Wright and Dan Murray out on older tires but in charge of the race. Jake would lead a race high 50 laps, but would have the 6th and final yellow on the evening fly as he entered pit road. This yellow would leave Jake and Dan Murray at the end of the field on the final restart. Ryan Howard would lead the field to green but would spin his tires, allowing James Krahula to sneak past on the high side. James would lead the final 28 laps to take home his second win on the weekend after winning the CSA Grand National race on Monday.
Johnathon Caddell will take over the points lead after his 3rd place finish, now 2 points above Dan Murray who is locked into the Chase with a win. Jake Wright moves up 4 positions to take 3rd from Rich Jette. Rich will fall back to 4th and Scott Eckrich rounds out the Top 5. James Krahula also locked himself into the Chase with his win on Tuesday. Danny Sanchez currently holds the last Chase position in points over Josh King and Matt LaCross by 1 point.
